Heated Towel Rack Pre-Submittal Checklist

Specification problems usually do not come from a single dramatic error. They usually come from small assumptions that were never checked before the order or submittal moved forward.

A good pre-submittal checklist helps confirm that the collection, voltage, controls, finish, installation conditions, and documents are aligned before the project moves forward.

Heated Towel Rack Pre-Submittal Checklist

Core Product Match

Confirm:

  • The collection
  • The exact model or size
  • Whether the room calls for a wall-mounted or freestanding format
  • Whether the selection matches the visual style of the room

This is the stage to confirm the exact collection and model, not after documents are already circulating.

Confirm Installation and Controls

Make sure the project has answered:

  • Hardwired only or combo-install
  • Plug-in only if Solo is under consideration
  • Whether the wall is finished or open
  • Whether local code or wet-area conditions affect placement

Installation assumptions often eliminate some options quickly.

Do not assume every collection uses the same controller compatibility.

Confirm whether the specification includes:

  • External switch or timer planning
  • Integrated switching
  • collections that support TDHC or TDHCR
  • Timer planning that should be decided before installation is complete

Confirm Voltage and Electrical Orientation

Before submittal, confirm:

  • Standard voltage vs 220V special order
  • Right-side electrical vs left-side or left-electrical requirements
  • Whether rotation is being relied on for electrical orientation
  • Whether the selected collection allows that approach

These details should not be left vague.

Confirm Wet-Area Conditions

If the rack may be near a shower or wet-room condition, make sure the documents and selection reflect that reality clearly.

Only qualifying Jeeves and Cape wet-rated kit options should be treated that way.

Confirm Finish Options

Make sure the project has settled:

  • Standard stainless vs plated finish
  • Whether a special-order finish is being requested
  • Whether that special-order finish is actually available on the selected collection

Finish assumptions can drift quickly if the requested finish and collection availability are not documented clearly.

Confirm Supporting Documents

Before the submittal is treated as complete, verify that the right document set is attached or referenced:

  • Technical drawing
  • Installation guide
  • Controller documentation if relevant
  • Finish or special-order notes when needed

Questions Worth Resolving Before Final Sign-Off

Has the installation method been clearly stated
Has the control setup been clearly matched to the collection
Has any left-side, 220V, hydronic, or special-order requirement been written explicitly
Has wet-area planning been checked against the real room conditions
Is the finish availability fully confirmed

Those are the kinds of details that prevent a submittal from looking complete while still carrying the wrong assumptions.
