JEEVES FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How do Jeeves towel racks heat?
Jeeves towel racks use an internal electric heating element that warms a sealed water-glycol mixture, evenly distributing heat through cylindrical bars to warm the entire rack.
Do Jeeves racks include an On/Off switch?
No, Jeeves racks do not have built-in switches. They must be wired to a separate wall switch or timer. Any standard hardwired timer or switch compatible with US-standard 120V can be used. While Amba offers compatible Leviton timers and switches for convenience, using these is not mandatory.
What finishes are available in the Jeeves collection?
Standard finishes include Polished Stainless Steel, Brushed Stainless Steel, White, Matte Black, and Oil Rubbed Bronze. Special-order finishes are not available at this time.

Can Jeeves racks be wired from the left-hand side instead of the standard right-hand side?
Yes, Jeeves racks come standard with electrical wiring at the bottom-right corner, but left-hand wiring is available as a modification upon ordering for an additional fee. Alternatively, racks can easily be modified at home before installation by simply swapping the heating element and end-cap positions with a wrench.
What if my Jeeves towel rack stops heating?
If your Jeeves rack stops heating, the most common cause is a worn-out or failed heating element. The good news is that the element is replaceable—there’s no need to replace the entire unit. Swapping the element is a simple process that can often be done at home using a basic wrench. Once replaced, the rack will function like new. Replacement elements are available through our showroom and web retail partners, as well as our Amazon Brand Store.
Make sure you choose the correct element for your specific Jeeves Model.
Are there additional sizes available? (Special Order)
Yes, specific Jeeves models have special-order width options ranging between approximately 12 5/8” and 25 1/8”. Available widths vary by model and these special-order racks have a lead time of approximately 10-16 weeks. Special orders are non-refundable. Please consult our Jeeves Special Order chart or contact us directly to confirm availability for your desired model.

Can Jeeves towel racks be installed in showers or steam rooms?
Yes, with the separately available Wet-Rated Kit. This kit replaces the standard electrical cover with one specifically certified for wet environments, allowing safe installation in high-moisture areas. Always ensure installation by a licensed electrician to comply with local electrical codes.
You can learn more about wet-rated zones and the wet-rated kit on our blog post.

Do all Jeeves racks provide the same level of towel warming?
No. Models vary in heating effectiveness based on their wattage and the number of bars. Specifically, the Jeeves Models J, I, and A Ladder have fewer bars and lower wattage, making them best suited as towel drying racks rather than primary towel warmers. Models with higher wattage and more bars offer superior towel warming performance.
